Karen Fleming is a partner with Hozik & Company, P.L.C. She joined the firm in October 2012 and has over 20 years of experience in public accounting. Prior to joining our firm, Karen worked as a senior manager at a top 10 national CPA firm where she helped lead the San Diego office’s not-for-profit practice. During her time in San Diego, she led both local and national level training seminars for the firm. She has spent the majority of her career specializing in performing audits, reviews and consulting services. In addition to her not-for-profit expertise, she has worked with clients in various industries such as biotechnology, financial institutions, manufacturing and distribution.

Karen is a CPA and received her B.S. in Accounting from Villanova University. Karen is also a Certified Internal Auditor and holds an inactive Certified Information Systems Auditor license. Karen is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She currently serves on the Finance Council at St. Mark Catholic Church in Vienna, Virginia.

James Hozik is a certified public accountant with over forty years of experience providing accounting and advisory services to clients in a variety of industries. Prior to establishing his own firm in 1991, Jim was an audit partner with Ernst & Young in their Entrepreneurial Services Group in Northern Virginia.

Jim spent fifteen years working overseas with Ernst & Young in Milan, Italy and Barcelona and Madrid, Spain. He has worked with numerous companies and organizations and assisted them with accounting and tax issues, strengthening internal controls, upgrading financial management and reporting systems, governance, human resources, and other financial issues.

He received his B.S. in Accounting from the University of Maryland. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants. Jim is a member of the Knights of Columbus, Padre Pio Council at St. Catherine of Siena Church in Great Falls, VA. He was a former Board Member and Treasurer of the American School of Madrid, Navy League of the United States (Barcelona and Madrid Chapters), and International Trade Association of Northern Virginia. He is a former advisor to the University of Maryland Technology Advancement Program for entrepreneurial start-up companies.

 Dave Hall is a supervisor at Hozik & Company, P.L.C. He is a CPA and received his B.S. in accounting from the University of Maryland. Prior to joining our firm he worked as a senior accountant at a firm that provided outsourced accounting services. Dave also worked as an accountant at several other companies. He has extensive experience with implementing accounting procedures and controls, accounting processes, and various accounting software systems.

Corrie Scott joined Hozik & Company, P.L.C., in Colorado and received her B.S. in accounting from Metropolitan State College of Denver.  Prior to joining our firm she worked in a public accounting firm providing both individual and corporate tax and outsourced accounting services.  She works extensively on non-profit taxes and assists on audits, reviews, compilations and accounting services.

 Amy Tillett joined Hozik & Company, P.L.C. as an audit manager in October 2019. She is a CPA and received her B.S. in business administration from the University of Tennessee. Prior to joining our firm she worked as an independent contractor providing tax and outsourced controller services. Amy has also worked as an auditor at other firms. She has extensive experience managing teams to document and implement accounting procedures and controls. Amy has worked with a variety of not-for-profit and for-profit entities.
